Important changes that could impact your account

The Courtesy Pay feature on your checking account at Utah Power Credit Union provides you with the convenience of overdraft protection up to $500 for transactions clearing your account. New federal regulations may impact how we handle this overdraft protection on your checking account.

What is changing?

The new regulations apply to everyday, one-time debit card and ATM transactions that overdraw your checking account. Before August 15, 2010, the Credit Union must obtain your permission before paying these debit card and ATM transactions that may overdraw your account and result in overdraft fees. Otherwise, these transactions could be denied.

If you want your Courtesy Pay overdraft protection to continue to work as it does now, please check the opt in box on the form linked below and return it to us as soon as possible or fax it to (801) 708-8929.

You can also opt in electronically by logging into e*teller and clicking the member options button and accessing the Courtesy Pay opt in form.

How much does it cost?

There is no change in the fee structure for Courtesy Pay overdraft protection. If you overdraw your account, you will continue to pay a fee of $18 each time you use your debit card and we have authorized the transaction or when you write a check without sufficient funds.
